Beneath the Northern Lights

Over the past few months, NECI has had the privilege of delivering a wide range of training for the Yukon Government, private sector entities, remote municipalities and the Annual Industry Conference in Whitehorse.

The Yukon Government has been making great strides offering their procurement professionals access to NECI’s Public Sector Procurement Program.  We delivered another track of PSPP 202 to a diverse audience – readying another group to move towards their certificate completion.

In collaboration with Yukon Government Department of Community Services, we facilitated our Signature Seminar:  Procurement Essentials for Executives for remotely located municipal councils.  In anticipation of some large upcoming projects, we also partnered with Deislin Development Corp to offer our Signature Seminars Essentials of Contract Law and Preparing Bids and Proposals: A Supplier’s Competitive Edge to a variety of private sector and First Nations business organizations in the small community of Telsin, about an hour and a half southeast of Whitehorse.

Not only was our training received with robust enthusiasm, we had the opportunity to explore the country enjoying sightings of the Aurora Borealis and caribou in pristine landscape.  The exquisite land, culture and extraordinarily hospitable people made the -25 temperature almost tolerable for our BC based instructors.

The best part of this course was the layout and course material.  Loved the case studies and the discussions they stimulated!    Donna Moore, dana Naye Ventures

This seminar was very important.    Carla Jules, Mayor of Teslin, Yukon
