Infrastructure Masterclass a Hit with Construction Procurement Staff!
On October 2nd, 2017 NECI delivered the first offering of Infrastructure Masterclass, a brand new one day seminar developed in collaboration with the BC Construction Association. A full class of broader public sector procurement professionals from across the province gathered in Prince George to hone their construction procurement skills and position their organizations as ‘owners of choice’.
Why Construction Procurement and Why Now?
As public sector owners struggle to obtain bids in this booming construction market, companies are becoming more selective about the opportunities that they invest resources in responding to. The release of massive Federal Infrastructure funding is creating added pressure. Timelines are tight, projects are complex, and procurement staff is often stretched to the breaking point. When viewed in the context of the tsunami of baby boomers retiring, there is a crisis in public procurement.
NECI & BCCA Team Up
Working together, NECI and the BCCA have developed this session to help public owners address the knowledge gap created by retiring practitioners by increasing the skills and knowledge of critical construction procurement planning issues. With a focus on leading edge public procurement strategies and hands-on practice selecting the most effective project delivery model for a real life project, this interactive session is packed with useful information, resources and networking opportunities that will assist public owners long after the session is over.
